Daniel J. Kobasic Memorial STEM Scholarship ($15,000)
The Daniel J. Kobasic Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student intending to pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). This scholarship is renewable up to 4 years and is paid directly to the college or university. The candidate must demonstrate strong work ethic and strength of character. A personal essay is required with the application. Financial need will be considered. Final selection of the recipient will be determined by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, appointed by the Kobasic Family. The student will have a minimum GPA of 3.75. A video interview with a Foundation representative is required for final candidates.
Renewable for four years on the conditions of: continued fulltime enrollment in focused STEM degree, continued academic performance, maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, and appropriate behavioral conduct. Final student selection will be made by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation selection committee. Scholarship payments will be made directly to academic institution.
Krystal C. Kobasic Nursing Scholarship ($15,000)
The Krystal C. Kobasic Scholarship is awarded annually to a student intending to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This scholarship is renewable up to 4 years and is paid directly to the college or university. The candidate must demonstrate strong work ethic and dedication to helping others. A personal essay is also required with the application. The student will have a minimum GPA of 3.75. A video interview with a Foundation representative is required for final candidates. Final selection of the recipient will be determined by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Scholarship selection committee.
Renewable for four years conditioned upon continued fulltime enrollment in a BSN program and sustained academic performance evidenced by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above, and appropriate behavioral conduct. Scholarship payments will be made directly to the academic institution.
We are looking for determined, motivated and mature students. Applications are open to Escanaba, Gladstone, Bark River Harris, Tri Township (Rapid River), Mid Peninsula and Big Bay de Noc High School Seniors. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and demonstration of personal character, financial need is also considered. Late applications will not be considered.
